Police Seize 8,500 Litres of Ethanol Hidden Under Maize in Gatundu South

Police have seized 8,500 litres of ethanol concealed beneath sacks of maize and sawdust in Gatundu South, Kiambu County, in a crackdown on suspected illegal alcohol-related activities.

The ethanol was reportedly discovered during a police operation targeting the transportation and distribution of illicit substances. The consignment had been cleverly hidden under the agricultural materials, apparently to avoid detection by security officers.

The seizure highlights ongoing efforts by security agencies to curb the illegal trade in alcohol and other potentially harmful substances.

Authorities are expected to investigate the origin and intended destination of the consignment, as well as identify those involved in its transportation.

Police have continued to urge members of the public to provide information that could assist in combating illegal trade and strengthening community security.
