At least 35 church leaders from Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Itabua Prayer House were trained on Tuesday during a leadership seminar led by Fr. Agapius Kamau of Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral Parish.
Speaking to Kimuri FM, Fr. Kamau said the seminar equipped both outgoing and incoming leaders with essential knowledge on pastoral responsibilities, describing the training as impactful in strengthening leadership within the church.
He noted that the session focused on helping leaders understand their roles in supporting church programs and mobilizing Christians, adding that bringing together outgoing and incoming officials would enhance unity and ensure continuity through mentorship and support.

The leaders, led by centre moderator Isaac Njiru Njeru, expressed gratitude for the seminar, terming it transformative and calling for similar initiatives to be extended across the diocese.
Some participants said they greatly benefited from the training and expressed optimism that the knowledge gained would positively influence both church leadership and the wider community.
They also revealed plans to extend similar training to Small Christian Communities, noting that it would further strengthen grassroots leadership and have a broader impact, including among political leaders.
